Due to postponements this week, the Concordia volleyball program has adjusted its upcoming schedule within GPAC play. New dates have been announced for Mount Marty/CSM matches.
Following a run of hot hitting, Gabi Nordaker has been named the NAIA National and GPAC Attacker of the Week. Nordaker ranks among the national leaders in hitting percentage and kills and blocks per set.
Riding a 3-0 start, the Bulldogs focus their attention on Saturday's match at College of Saint Mary. Only once in the GPAC era have the Bulldogs gotten to 4-0 in conference play.
Three GPAC matches. Nine sets. Still perfect. Seward's own Camryn Opfer starred on Saturday (Sept. 19) as the Bulldogs moved to 3-0 with a straight-sets win over Hastings.
Concordia smoldered on the attack while outhitting Doane, .424 to .161, on Wednesday (Sept. 16). Five Bulldogs recorded at least seven kills as Concordia moved to 2-0.
GPAC action heats up this week as the Bulldogs take on two more in-state rivals. Concordia will be at Doane on Wednesday before welcoming Hastings to town on Saturday.
After starring on the volleyball court as a prep at Exeter-Milligan High School, Claire White moved onto NCAA Division II Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., to play for a strong Ichabods program in the fall of 2012. As a freshman, she never quite found her comfort zone and decided to seek increased playing time in a setting closer to her hometown of Exeter, Neb.
Freshman Gabi Nordaker made herself comfortable in her Concordia debut and the Bulldogs motored to a straight-sets victory at Midland on Wednesday (Sept. 9) in the season opener.
The wait will finally be over on Wednesday night when Concordia and Midland meet in Fremont. The Nebraska GPAC rivals split their two meetings in 2019.
