SEWARD, Neb. – The awards are a byproduct of Adrianna Rodencal’s consistent excellence. Following her standard-setting meet at the GPAC Outdoor Championships, Rodencal was honored by both the USTFCCCA and the NAIA National Office as the NAIA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week. In 2026, Rodencal has been tabbed the national athlete of the week three times by the NAIA (April 1, April 22 and May 6) and twice by the coaches’ association (Feb. 9 and May 4). She’s also raked in six GPAC weekly honors.
As the USTFCCCA aptly put it, “Rodencal was nearly unstoppable at the GPAC Outdoor Championships in Fremont, Neb.” The Lincoln Lutheran alum broke her own meet records in the 100-meter hurdles (13.14) and 400-meter hurdles (58.36) while also running the second leg for the 4x400-meter relay that won the GPAC title in school record time of 3:47.14. Rodencal also helped the 4x1 relay to a time of 46.80, equaling a program standard. Rodencal earned 24.5 team points and was tabbed the GPAC Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet for the fifth time in her career. The 60-meter hurdle national champion is now a 14-time GPAC champion in her legendary career. Rodencal currently owns the NAIA’s top times in both hurdles events.
The outdoor season for Rodencal and company will continue this week with Friday’s Concordia Twilight and Saturday’s Loper Twilight hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney. For full details on both meets, click HERE.
Between men and women, Head Coach Matt Beisel’s squads have combined for 16 total GPAC Athlete of the Week awards throughout the course of the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor seasons (see full list below).
