Concordia put together a nice rally to beat Mount Marty and then had a clunker in the second game of the day as the GPAC tournament got underway. The Bulldogs will return to action on Friday (May 3).
GPAC tournament action is coming up next for the Bulldogs, who are the third seed in the bracket. Concordia hopes to make a run at its first national tournament appearance since 2015.
Camry Moore did it all in game one and then Tori Homolka ended the regular season finale with a loud bang as part of a doubleheader sweep over Dordt on Saturday (April 27). It was senior day for the Bulldogs.
Leave it to GPAC Player of the Year Hhana Haro to light a spark in the Bulldogs. She boosted the team's spirits after a rough game one by hitting two homers in game two for a split versus CSM on Wednesday (April 24).
The Crete duo of Camry Moore and MacKinsey Schmidt played a large role in a 10-2 game one win over Northwestern on Tuesday (April 23). The Bulldogs then dropped game two, 2-1.
The final week of the regular season is here for Bulldog softball. Concordia still has a shot at winning the GPAC regular season title. The Bulldogs will play three GPAC doubleheaders between Tuesday and Saturday.
Two pitcher's duels took place on a breezy but sunny day in Hastings on Saturday (April 20). The result was one 1-0 downer and one 1-0 win for the Bulldogs. Brittany Woolridge tossed a three-hit shutout in game two.
In a battle between two of the GPAC's top teams, Concordia and Midland split a doubleheader in Fremont on Tuesday (April 16). Both ends were decided by a single run in well-pitched affairs.
Hhana Haro went 10-for-20 at the plate last week while leading the Bulldogs to a 4-2 record. In the process, Haro extended her hitting streak to nine and was named the GPAC Player of the Week.
Another chance to prove themselves against a marquee opponent is coming up on Tuesday for the Bulldogs, who will be at No. 20 Midland. Concordia will then finish up the week at Hastings on Saturday.
