· Notable: A historic season for Head Coach Jason Weides’ program is in the books. The 2025 team became the first in program history to advance at the NAIA National Championships. In nail-biting fashion in the first round of the national tournament, Concordia outlasted No. 24 Eastern Oregon University in a penalty kick shootout, 4-2, on Nov. 20. The shootout was necessary after the two sides played to a scoreless draw through 110 minutes (including two overtimes). In the shootout, keeper Inigo Chavarria saved two shots and striker Ridards Busmeisters supplied the clinching PK. In the program’s two previous trips to the national tournament (2015 and 2022), the Bulldogs were beaten in their first game. In the 2025 second round, Concordia played competitively in what amounted to a 3-0 loss to site host and second-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kan. The Bulldogs actually outshot the Pioneers, 10-9. The result meant that Concordia ended the season at 12-9-1 overall. As part of the journey, Concordia went from an 0-4 start to GPAC tournament champions. Eight Bulldogs earned 2025 GPAC All-Conference awards, headlined by first team honors for Busmeisters, the team’s top offensive threat with 10 goals on the season. In 18 years at the helm of the program, Weides has won 183 games. Concordia will head into the offseason while looking forward to the resumption of training in the spring semester.

The national tournament resumes this week as Concordia takes on No. 22 Dakota Wesleyan and No. 14 The Master’s University (Calif.) as part of Pool D at the national tournament. · Notable: The 2025 cross country season is complete. Keeli Green and Vaughn Hendrickson represented Concordia at the 2025 NAIA Cross Country National Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., on Nov. 21. It was a memorable day for Green, who became the 11th competitor in women’s program history to earn All-America honors. The Arlington, Neb., native ran the 6k in 21:50.5, placing her 26th in a field of 333 runners at the national meet (top 40 finishers are All-Americans). In the men’s 8k race, Hendrickson clocked in at 26:12.6 and placed 139th. Hendrickson earned All-America honors as a freshman in 2024. Head Coach Matt Beisel’s programs have produced at least one All-American in three straight seasons with Kylahn Freiberg also garnering such distinction in 2023. The national championships came two weeks after the 2025 GPAC Championships, which saw the Bulldogs place third on the men’s side and fifth on the women’s side. The Concordia men narrowly missed out on a team at-large bid. Next up for the distance crew will be the indoor track season, which will kick off with the Bulldog Early Bird Meet on Dec. 12-13.

In addition, Logan Wilson snagged a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals. Off the bench, Garret Johnson netted nine points on three treys and Zac Kulus returned from injury to supply eight points. A few days earlier, Jacobsen and Kissinger both notched 21 points as the Bulldogs won 78-73 at No. 3 Northwestern, the GPAC’s preseason favorite. The win streak also includes victories over Oklahoma City University, Clarke University (Iowa) and Waldorf.
