Wrestling reveals 2015-16 schedule

SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University wrestling will attempt to build upon a breakthrough season when it opens the 2015-16 campaign on Nov. 7 at the Bethany College Open. The complete schedule for this coming winter, announced on Thursday, can be viewed HERE. Eighteen events will lead into the North Qualifying Group Tournament, hosted by Concordia, on Feb. 20

The Bulldogs will also welcome four opponents for home duals throughout the 2015-16 season. Up first is a Nov. 10 showdown with Baker University (Kan.) in a matchup of teams that both finished last season in the nation’s top 15. Concordia, the defending conference champion, will put a GPAC dual win streak of seven on the line when it visits Fremont for a triangular with Midland and Dakota Wesleyan on Nov. 17.

New to this year’s slate is a trip to Great Falls, Mont., for the Great Falls Argo Duals (Dec. 4) and the Great Falls Tournament (Dec. 5). Both Baker and Bethany College (Kan.) (Feb. 3) are unique to this season’s dual schedule.

Last season head coach Dana Vote’s squad went a perfect 7-0 in GPAC duals, won the NAIA North Group title and finished No. 12 at the NAIA Wrestling National Championships. A total of 10 Bulldogs qualified for the national championships – four were All-Americans and three won regional titles.
