Travin Claflin signs with the Bulldogs

Travin Claflin of Gibbon has signed a letter of intent to wrestle with the Concordia University Bulldogs.  Claflin had an outstanding senior year wrestling for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller School in Sumner.  Claflin capped off his senior season with a 37-5 record.  He placed second in the Nebraska State Wrestling Championships.

Claflin had an overall prep mark of 113-41 and was a two-time member of the Nebraska Academic All-State Wrestling Team.  He was the Most Outstanding Wrestler in the Sutherland Invite and was named the Winter Athlete-of-the-Year in the Clipper Herald.

Claflin plans to major in Pre-Physical Therapy.  He will wrestle at 157 pounds for the Bulldogs next season.

"Travin is a great addition to our team," noted Coach Doug Reese.  "We had a big hole in our line-up at 157 pounds last season, and we expect Travin to more than fill it next season.  He is a tough and physical wrestler who will adapt well to our style of wrestling."
