This is the start of year two for Clasen leading the Concordia program. The achievements in 2022-23 included a program record-tying 13 dual wins, third place GPAC finishes in the regular season and postseason, a GPAC title for Issiah Burks and four individual NAIA national qualifiers. The Bulldogs bring back one national qualifier in 141-pounder Creighton Baughman, who went 25-10 overall last season. To begin 2023-24, Baughman is ranked second in the GPAC and 10th nationally in his weight class. He’s one of six Concordia competitors to receive GPAC preseason rankings (top six in weight class).

Midland will debut a new head coach in Doyle Trout. He inherits a program that went 2-6 in GPAC duals last season. Two Warriors are ranked at the conference level: Janson Pilkington (fifth at 125) and Zion Amerson (sixth at 149). The program’s one 2023 national qualifier, Kolton Kammeyer, departed. These two sides also opened the 2022-23 season with a dual in Fremont. The result was a 28-17 win for the Bulldogs.
