SEWARD, Neb. – Ten NAIA men’s wrestling programs from six different states will make up the field at the 2022 Concordia Bulldog Duals. This will mark the third annual Bulldog Duals hosted by the Concordia University Wrestling program. The latest event will feature five rounds of wrestling, across four mats, beginning at 10 a.m. CT inside Friedrich Arena. Head Coach Chase Clasen’s squad will be up against nonconference foes in Central Methodist University (Mo.), Texas Wesleyan University, Benedictine College (Kan.) and Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

The Bulldogs have been idle since competing in the Doane Open on Dec. 3. Concordia owns a 4-1 dual record with wins over Midland, Hastings, Dakota Wesleyan and Bethany College (Kan.). The loss came at the hands of No. 12 Morningside. To this point, 23 Bulldogs have wrestled in at least one match. The following Concordia competitors own at least five wins on the season: Tommy Wentz (10-5), Creighton Baughman (9-4), Garret Moser (8-4), Grant Wells (8-5), Issiah Burks (6-5), Torrance Keehn (6-6), Bryce Karlin (5-4) and Thomas Ivey (5-7). The team pins leaders are Karlin and Wentz with four apiece.
Baughman enters this weekend ranked 18th in the NAIA at 141 pounds. The 10 teams in the field will bring a combined 28 nationally ranked competitors to the Bulldog Duals. That group includes Doane’s top-ranked 141-pounder Baterdene Boldmaa. Both Doane and Oklahoma Wesleyan are repeat attendees at the event. The Bulldog Duals featured 16 duals in 2020, eight in 2021 and is scheduled to include 18 in 2022.
