The trio of sophomores Dillon Heesch (Dayton, Iowa), Adam Joseph (Hastings, Neb.) and freshman Jacob Williams (Rio Rancho, N.M.) each earned two victories advancing to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Championships on Thursday, Mar. 1.

As a team, the Concordia University Bulldogs racked up 13 points and sit in 19th place overall.

Concordia's heavyweight, Heesch is off to the most impressive start for Concordia, recording to victories by pinfall in a combined 1:25.  His feat is the second fastest margin of victory for any wrestler at the NAIA National Championships, just a nine seconds behind the mark of 1:16 of Great Fall's Kamron Jackson.

At the 133 weight class, Joseph kicked off things on Thursday with a major decision over Indiana Tech's Brett Yarbrough (13-4), then bested Scott Schlosser of Great Falls, 7-3.

Williams, meanwhile, also earned a major decision (10-2) over Wayland Baptist's Victor Thomas in action at the 141 weight class.  Later in the day, Williams downed Marty Rubalcaba of Missouri Baptist.

Two other Concordia wrestler remain alive in wrestle backs as senior Julian Silva (Covina, Calif.) and junior Brandon Starkey (St. Paul, Neb.) will look to fight for third place in the 197-pound class and 149-pound class respectively.
