MITCHELL, S.D. – Two days after hosting its first dual of the 2021-22 season, the Concordia University Wrestling team took five competitors to the Dakota Wesleyan University Open in Mitchell, S.D., on Saturday (Nov. 13). The Bulldogs wound up with three wins, including two that came via pins by Isaac Agabin. Concordia is still biding its time for a return to full strength.

This marked the third tournament of the season for Head Coach Myron Bradbury’s squad, which also took part in the York College Open and the Dan Harris Open.

With a light field for the Bulldogs, there wasn’t a lot to take away from Saturday. Each of Agabin’s matches at 133 ended in falls. The Las Vegas native pinned Hector Holguin of York and Andy Rojas of Hastings. The other Concordia victory on the day was produced by Adam Roberts, who earned a 10-4 decision over Augustana University (S.D.)’s Thurman Christensen at 125.

Three Bulldogs went 0-2 at the Dakota Wesleyan Open: Jose Sanchez (165), Trenton Wills (174) and Isaac Renas (197). Agabin was the lone Concordia grappler to wrestle in both Thursday’s dual versus Hastings and Saturday’s tournament in Mitchell.

Next up will be the University of Nebraska-Kearney Open in one week (Nov. 20). Action from Kearney is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m. CT.
