2021-22 Concordia Women’s Tennis Schedule

SEWARD, Neb. – Concordia University Women’s Tennis has released its schedule for the spring semester of 2022. The Bulldogs will jumpstart the 2021-22 campaign on Feb. 19 by hosting NCAA Division III Colorado College. The spring schedule for Head Coach Cam Long’s squad is slated to feature 18 regular season matches, including seven against GPAC opponents.

During the shorter fall portion of the schedule, Concordia competed in the GPAC Individual Tournament and the ITA Central Regional Championships while also going 1-1 in dual action. The Bulldogs went up against NCAA Division III Wartburg College (Iowa) and NCAA Division II William Jewell College (Mo.). They emerged with a 5-2 victory over Wartburg.

Both the men’s and women’s programs will venture south for spring break and play in the states of Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Concordia will get another shot at William Jewell (NCAA Division II) but will play mostly NAIA foes for nonconference action. The NAIA opposition will include the likes of Bethany College (Kan.), Bethel College (Kan.), Grand View University (Iowa), Kansas Wesleyan University, Missouri Valley College, Ottawa University (Kan.), Southwestern College (Kan.) and Sterling College (Kan.).

The GPAC tournament will take place at Fremont High School in Fremont, Neb., April 29-30. The NAIA National Championships are set to be staged in Mobile, Ala., May 17-21.

The Bulldog women’s program is coming off a 2020-21 season that saw it go 6-1 in conference play and shared the GPAC regular season title (first conference championship in program history). Long’s squad returns four players that earned some form of all-conference recognition last season: Luisa Esquivel, Tara Ferrel, Katelyn Krejci and Sofia Morales.
