
Koll nets another GPAC singles win in team loss at Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. – Despite a tough season for the Concordia University women’s tennis squad, senior Katelyn Koll continues to chase perfection. Koll moved to 5-0 in GPAC singles matches at No. 1 in a 5-2 Bulldog loss at Hastings (3-14, 1-4 GPAC) on Wednesday evening. Concordia is now 1-11 overall and 1-4 in conference action.
Koll’s 8-6 win over the Broncos’ Liz Harlow marked the Wilber, Neb., native’s 10th-consecutive singles win in GPAC matches. Since the start of her sophomore campaign, Koll is 29-15 overall and 16-3 in conference contests.
The other Concordia win came at No. 2 doubles where the combo of Grace Hollenbeck and Laura Sattler pulled out a 9-8 (7-5) triumph over Whitney Bridger and Molly Mitchell.
The match was tied, 2-2, when play had to be moved indoors due to storms occurring in the area. Matches at No. 2 and No. 6 singles were not finished. The other four singles contests were pro sets.
The Bulldogs have two regular-season conference matches remaining: Saturday at Northwestern (11 a.m.) and Monday versus Mount Marty (6 p.m.). The Red Raiders are 5-6 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Lancers own respective marks of 0-1 and 0-1.
