SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Women’s Tennis program reeled in academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Thursday (July 30). As a group, the Bulldogs were named a 2019-20 All-Academic Team by the ITA while 10 individual student-athletes earned ITA-Scholar Athlete status. The 2019-20 shortened campaign marked the second season as head coach for David DeSimone, the 2019 GPAC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes were required to meet the following stipulations: at least a 3.5 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To land on the list of ITA All-Academic Teams, squads were required to have a team GPAC of at least 3.2. All varsity letter winners were factored into cumulative team GPA’s for the current academic year.

Prior to the shutdown of the spring season, the Bulldogs had posted a record of 6-3 (most wins among GPAC teams). They had just completed their spring break matches when the season was cut short.
