Waldorf College rallies for 4-3 win over Concordia

Waldorf College used three goals by Molly O’Brien in the second half to rally for a 4-3 women’s soccer win over Concordia University on Sunday at the Midland University Tournament.  The Bulldogs dropped to 1-4 on the year with the loss. 

Concordia took a 3-1 lead into halftime.  Mallorie Blanck (Manhattan, Kan.) scored early in the match to put the Bulldogs on top.  Waldorf tied the match with a goal by Tiffany McNelly in the 20th minute, but Concordia quickly reclaimed the lead on a goal by Jamie Sanchez (Lincoln, Neb.) in the 24th minute.  Blanck scored her second goal of the match to increase the Bulldog lead to 3-1 in the 38th minute.  Sanchez was credited with the assist. 

Waldorf started the rally with a goal by O’Brien in the 53rd minute.  O’Brien then scored in the 83rd and 88th minutes to put Waldorf up for good. 

The Bulldogs held a 23-11 shot advantage and a 5-2 corner kick advantage in the match.  Ariel Harris (Valley Center, Calif.) made six saves but suffered the loss in net for the Bulldogs.  Kaylee Vitale made 11 saves to pick up the win for Waldorf.
