SEWARD, Neb. - The 2025 NAIA women’s soccer selection show aired at 6  p.m. CT on Friday (Nov. 14) and revealed that the Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s soccer team fell short of being chosen for an at-large national tournament bid. Head Coach Nick Smith’s squad ended the season with only two total losses (one regular season) with a 13-2-5 record.

With a 7-1-3 conference outing, CUNE claimed second in the GPAC for the third season in a row and was considered for an at-large spot in the NAIA national tournament first round.

In the 20-game span, the Bulldogs had their highest-ranked win in the program’s history over a then-ranked No. 4 Columbia College (Mo.), 3-1, and tied a now-ranked No. 17 University of Science and Arts (Okla.), 3-3. Concordia also defeated a receiving votes Kansas Wesleyan University (3-1) on senior day.

Before the Hastings loss in the GPAC tournament, the Bulldogs were on a seven-game unbeaten streak that included the Broncos (2-1) in the first game of the stretch. The offense outscored opponents 57-20 with a +37 goal scoring margin.

Nick Smith (2024) is the third coach in program history to lead the Bulldogs to a national tournament qualification.

With eight GPAC all-conference honorees, Concordia was led by the likes of Kierstynn Garner, Niah Kirchner, Kyana Rios, Triniti Rowe, Guadalupe Sanchez, Sadie Mares, Elena Ruiz and Taylor Slaymaker.
