Carlson's hat-trick lifts #19 Hastings past Concordia

Jessica Carlson scored all three goals as Hastings College picked up a 3-0 women’s soccer win over Concordia University on Wednesday evening in Hastings.  Hastings College, ranked 19th in the latest NAIA Top 25, improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in GPAC play with the victory.  Concordia’s two-game winning streak was snapped.  The Bulldogs dropped to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in GPAC play.  

Hastings held a commanding 23-8 shot advantage.  Carlson struck with her first goal late in the first half, and the Broncos took a 1-0 lead into halftime.  Carlson added her other two goals in the 77th and 82nd minutes.  Her last goal came off an assist by Taylor Voycheske.  Carlson finished with 10 shots (four on goal) in the Bronco win.  Tenaya Howsden made two saves and earned the win in goal for the Broncos.  

Mallorie Blanck (Manhattan, Kan.) totaled five shots (just one on goal) for Concordia.  Ariel Harris (Valley Center, Calif.) made five saves but suffered the loss for the Bulldogs.  

Concordia continues conference play with a road contest at Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday.
