Benedictine College picks up 2-0 win over Concordia

Benedictine College picked up a 2-0 women’s soccer win over Concordia University on a windy Monday afternoon in Seward.  The visiting Ravens improved to 3-0-1 on the season with the win, while Concordia dropped its second straight to fall to 2-2 on the young season.

Erin O’Brien scored both goals for Benedictine College on the day.  Late in the first half, she put the Ravens on top with her third goal of the season.  The score remained 1-0 until late in the second half.  Poor communication by the Bulldog defense left an open net, and O’Brien scored again for the final score of 2-0.

The Ravens held a slim 10-8 shot advantage in the game.  The Ravens had nine shots on goal compared to six for Concordia.  Carissa Gregory made six saves to pick up the win in net for Benedictine College.  Jamie Sanchez had five shots (three on goal) for the Bulldogs offensively.  Kelly Ross added two shots, while Ariel Harris totaled seven saves for Concordia.

The Bulldogs host Bethany College on September 11 with a 6 pm scheduled start time at Bulldog Stadium.
