Schedule Release: 2022-23 Women's Lifting Sports

2022-23 Concordia Lifting Sports Schedule

SEWARD, Neb. – The schedule is now public as the Concordia University Lifting Sports program looks forward to its inaugural season of competition. History will be made when the Bulldog weightlifters compete at the MidAmerica Nazarene University Open in Olathe, Kan., Sept. 10-11. The 2022-23 slate features a total of eight events, including four apiece designated as either weightlifting or powerlifting meets.

Freddie Myles was introduced as the first head coach of the program back in December 2021. Combining men’s and women’s athletes, the Concordia Lifting Sports roster has reached 19 members. A native of Penngrove, Calif., Myles has worked with 21 national champions in weightlifting/powerlifting during a career that has included time spent at the college level and as the owner and operator of Myles Ahead Fitness, Inc. Myles also serves as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Concordia Athletics.

The upcoming schedule includes trips to the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio and Texas. Two competitions will take place within the state of Nebraska – the Midland University Warrior Open (Oct. 15) and the Heartland Open (Jan. 21). The national competitions are set for March 3-5 for the Collegiate Weightlifting Nationals and April 13-16 for the Collegiate Powerlifting Nationals.
