STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Concordia women’s golf team tied for third at the Buena Vista College Invite with a team score of 358-351—709. The two-day event concluded on Sunday at Lake Creek Country Club.

Head coach Brett Muller said, “Kayla (Krueger) played great today for most of the day. She was in a great position to shoot in the 70’s but the last couple of holes slipped away from her. I am proud of the way she played. Overall as at team, I thought we had a good mindset. We need to continue improving on staying away from big numbers.”

The second day score of 351 is just over the team’s season average of 350.9. William Penn won the meet with Dakota Wesleyan coming in second. The Bulldogs tied for third place with Central College. Eight total teams competed in the meet.

Krueger improved her second day score by 10 strokes and carded a total 91-81—172 to tie for 14th place. Amy Ahlers shot an 85-87—172, also tying for 14th. Ashlen Pospisil turned in a score of 90-91—181 to tie for 21st place while Brenna Gnuse scored 92-92—184 to tie for 26th place.

The Concordia women’s golf team will return to the course on April 28 at the Doane College-Kaitlyn Erickson Invite in Lincoln, Neb.
