Women's golf breaks school record, finishes second

OMAHA, Neb. – The Concordia University women’s golf team set a new school record for team score while finishing second at the College of Saint Mary’s Fall Classic Wednesday, Sept. 9. Amy Ahlers finished second individually and Emma Jacoby tied for fifth over the two day event.

The new school record of 335 came from Ahlers (79), Jacoby (81), Kayla Krueger (82), Ashlen Pospisil (93) and Brenna Gnuse (94) during the second day of competition at the CSM Fall Classic. The previous record of 338 was shot on day one of the Briar Cliff Fall Classic on Sept. 25, 2014.

The 339-335—674 team score was good to finish second overall behind GPAC foe Morningside. Ahlers finished second individually with a two day score of 80-79—159 which is under her average from last season. Jacoby tied for fifth with an 85-81—166 finish also below her 2014-15 season average and just shy of tying a career low score of 80.

Also competing in Omaha was Mallarie Fila (93), Madison Pitsch (103) and Lauren Sperry (108).

The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19 for the Briar Cliff Lila Fromant Invite. The two day event will take place at North Sioux City, S.D. on day one and will finish in Sioux City, Iowa on the second day.
