Windy weather leads to big numbers on first day of Nebraska Intercollegiate

AXTELL, Neb. – Strong winds wreaked havoc on the field of 30 golfers who played round one of the Nebraska Intercollegiate on Friday (Oct. 6). The Concordia University Women’s Golf team wound up with a total of 385 and is tied for fifth place out of six Nebraska squads taking part in the annual event at Awarri Dunes Golf Course in Axtell, Neb. The University of Nebraska-Kearney stands as the tournament leader with a 321.

This will be the final event of the fall season for Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad. The team had been idle since placing seventh at the Hastings Invite (Sept. 25-26).

Fifth-year Bulldog Logan Eschliman led the way for Concordia on Friday with a score of 88, putting her in a tie for 11th halfway through the tournament. Emery Custer came next in line with a 90. Complete Bulldog scores are listed below. The current individual leader is UNK’s Brooke King with a two-over-par 74.
