Tournament Preview: 2022 Concordia Bulldogs Invite

SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Women’s Golf program is making final preparations for the 2022 Concordia Bulldog Invite set to take place Tuesday and Wednesday at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. The tournament field will include 84 players from 14 different institutions, including eight from within the GPAC. With the exception of the spring of 2020, Head Coach Brett Muller’s program has hosted the invite each year since 2018.

At the 2021 Concordia Bulldog Invite, the Bulldogs placed fifth out of 15 teams with a score of 354-324–678. Individually, Kendra Placke led the way by placing in a tie for third (78-75–153). Morningside took the team title with a two-round total of 304-313–617 while Bellevue’s Dominika Gradecka won individual medalist honors by shooting 80-68–148. Iowa Western, Bellevue and Briar Cliff placed two through four in the team standings.

The home tournament will mark the second outing of this spring for Placke and company. At the Southwestern College Moundbuilder Classic on March 28-29, the Bulldogs carded a score of 353-365–718 and placed fourth out of a small field. Placke is a perfect 7-for-7 this 2021-22 season in terms of placing inside the top 10 at every event. At the Moundbuilder Classic, Placke shot an 84-85–169 (tied for sixth). Next in line were Mya Nurse (87-94–181) and Emily Jensen (90-93–183), who placed 14th and 17th, respectively. The team’s top five was rounded out by Logan Eschliman (97-93–190; T-21st) and Lauren Havlat (92-98–190; T-21st). Two other Bulldogs also competed: Sarah Wilson (105-95–200; 24th) and Ashley Gerczynski (117-106–223; 27th).

Through seven events (13 rounds) this season, Concordia has been paced Placke’s season average of 79.9. Below are the lists of season averages for Bulldogs in 2021-22.
