Spring Break 2023: Women's Golf headed to Phoenix area

SEWARD, Neb. – The 2022-23 Concordia University Women’s Golf season is set to resume next week with a trip to the Phoenix area for spring break. The Bulldogs will take to Wigwam Resort Red Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz., next Tuesday and Wednesday (March 7-8) for the Southwestern Minnesota State Spring Invite. The host Mustangs are affiliated with NCAA Division II and will travel from their home of Marshall, Minn., to put on the event.

Head Coach Brett Muller’s women’s team participated in five events (nine rounds) during the fall portion of the 2022-23 season and averaged a score of 352.8. Concordia’s low round of the fall was the 334 it turned in on round one of the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational. Individually, Lauren Havlat produced the team’s four lowest rounds (three 81s and a 77). The top five Bulldogs in terms of scoring average have been Havlat (84.4), Emery Custer (86.7), Mya Nurse (87.1), Logan Eschliman (91.4) and Ashley Gerczynski (100.4). At the Nebraska Intercollegiate, the freshman Custer led the way by shooting a solid 86-88–174 (12th place).

Following the spring break trip, the season will continue with the Concordia Spring Invitational (April 3-4), the College of Saint Mary Spring Invite (April 12-13), the Iowa Western Community College Bent Tree Showcase (April 17-18) and the GPAC Championships (May 1-2). The 2023 NAIA Women’s Golf Championships will be held in Silvis, Ill., May 23-26.
