Placke places sixth, Bulldogs finish second at Nebraska Intercollegiate

NORFOLK, Neb. – Kendra Placke showed she can compete with the top collegiate golfers in the state of Nebraska while leading Concordia University Women’s Golf at the Nebraska Intercollegiate held Friday and Saturday (Oct. 8-9) at Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk, Neb. This marked the first time that a women’s tournament was included as part of the event. The Bulldogs placed second out of a three-team field.

Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad shot a 36-hole total of 355-351–706 for the weekend. It was the final outing of the fall for Concordia.

Placke wound up tied for sixth (only four strokes out of second place) with her score of 78-83–161. Four of the five Bulldogs to compete in the tournament improved their scores on the second day (see below). The small tournament included 20 individual golfers.

Nebraska Intercollegiate scores:

·        Kendra Placke – 78-83–161 (T-6th)

·        Lauren Havlat – 89-86–175 (12th)

·        Mya Nurse – 93-88–181 (15th)

·        Logan Eschliman – 95-94–189 (17th)

·        Emily Jensen – 97-95–192 (19th)

The season will resume in the spring of 2022. The spring season will include two more rounds of conference championship action.
