SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Golf has again put itself in contention for a tournament championship. In action at the Siouxland Invite on Tuesday (Sept. 16), seniors Emery Custer and Maddie Lewis shot the Bulldogs’ two lowest scores while junior Emma McCoy carded a career best. Concordia sits in second place after the first of two rounds at the event, which unfolded at The Ridge Golf Club in Sioux Center, Iowa, on day one.
Head Coach Brett Muller has traveled two groupings of five to the tournament co-hosted by Dordt and Northwestern. On day one, Concordia’s ‘A’ team shot a 334 and the ‘B’ team recorded a 373. The Bulldogs will enter round two just two strokes behind first-place Northwestern.
Through the first five rounds of the 2025-26 season, Custer has already cracked the 70s three separate times. The Broken Bow, Neb., native shot a five-over-par 77 on Tuesday and is three strokes in back of Morningside’s Kendra Casey (74) at the top of the individual leaderboard. Meanwhile, Lewis (80) of Treynor, Iowa, holds down a top five position of her own with 18 holes complete. Lewis has shot 80 or better in three straight rounds. The rest of the ‘A’ team includes freshmen Olivia James (88) and Amelia Ptacnik (89) and sophomore Savannah McFalls (89).
A Grand Island High School alum, McCoy posted the third best score among Bulldogs in round one of the Siouxland Invite. Her 87 far exceeded her previous career low of 91 achieved as a sophomore. She birdied holes 4 and 13. McCoy led a ‘B’ team that also featured Kaylee Carlson and Makenzie Hughes. Both of whom shot 93 at The Ridge. Complete Concordia results are included below.
The Siouxland Invite field is made up exclusively of GPAC programs. Following Concordia and Northwestern in the day one standings are Doane (343), Hastings (344) and Mount Marty (347). There are 57 individuals in the field.
