Golf Genius Live Scoring (GGID of LILA25)
NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – Halfway through the annual Lila Frommelt Invite, the Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Golf team has put itself in the running for a tournament title. Three Bulldogs are situated inside the top 10 of the individual leaderboard for a squad one stroke off first-place Iowa Western Community College with one round to go at the event hosted by Briar Cliff. The action on Monday (Sept. 8) took place at Two Rivers Golf Club in North Sioux City, S.D.
It’s wall-to-wall golf to begin the week for Head Coach Brett Muller’s programs with the men playing nearby at the Siouxland Invite. In North Sioux City, Concordia women’s ‘A’ team shot 336 on Monday while sizzling on the back nine at Two Rivers.
Senior Maddie Lewis and sophomore Savannah McFalls both turned in nine-over-par 80s in round one. They are tied for third place individually, two strokes out of first. The performance marked career lows for Lewis and McFalls. The Treynor, Iowa, native Lewis carded birdies on 9 and 10 while the Omaha native McFalls recorded nine pars in a consistent round. Previous career lows were 81 for both Lewis and McFalls.
Fresh off a third-place finish at the Mount Marty Invite, senior Emery Custer also holds down a spot in the top 10, currently tied for ninth place. She shot an 85 on Monday. Custer birdied hole 14. The rest of the ‘A’ team included freshmen Olivia James (91) and Amelia Ptacnik (95).
Five additional Bulldogs made up a ‘B’ team for Concordia. The leader from that group is sophomore Audra Poffinbarger, who shot 89 in round one. Full results are included below.
Following Iowa Western (335) and Concordia (336) in the top five of the team standings are Northwestern (341), Kansas Wesleyan University (345) and Doane (349).
