DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. – As part of a reconfigured conference tournament, Concordia University, Nebraska Women’s Golf and its GPAC rivals completed 27 holes on Monday (April 27) at Dakota Dunes Country Club in Dakota Dunes, S.D. Halfway through the 2026 GPAC Championships, the Bulldogs sit in fourth place while led at the top of the lineup by senior Emery Custer. At +87, Concordia stands behind Morningside (+40), Doane (+61) and College of Saint Mary (+67).

Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad carded a 353 (+61) team score in round one and then shot 170 (+26) over its first nine holes of round two. Originally scheduled for 36 holes on day one and 18 on day two, the GPAC Championships were altered based on the weather forecast. Monday’s weather dealt the tournament field cool, cloudy and breezy conditions.

A true championship level course, Dakota Dunes (par 73) provides a significant challenge. The Broken Bow, Neb., native Custer shot 85 (+12) in round one while playing the course for the first time. She picked up steam in round two by collecting back-to-back birdies (holes 8 and 9). Custer is hoping for similar success as she enjoyed at the 2025 GPAC Championships when she placed fifth. Heading into Tuesday’s play, Custer stands in a tie for 11th place (85-40–125; +16) out of 63 individuals. Custer is nine strokes off the tournament lead shared by three players.

Custer was followed on Monday in the Concordia lineup by sophomore Savannah McFalls (87-43–130; T-19th), senior Maddie Lewis (89-46–135; T-29th) and freshmen Olivia James (92-43–135; T-29th) and Amelia Ptacnik (98-44–142; 42nd). Both McFalls and Lewis were part of the conference lineup last season while James and Ptacnik are competing at the GPAC Championships for the first time. Lewis placed 27th and McFalls 28th a year ago.

Several teams are directly in Concordia’s rearview mirror heading into Tuesday, including Briar Cliff (+88), Hastings (+89) and Northwestern (+93). At the top of the standings, first-place Morningside (+40) holds a 21-stroke advantage over second-place Doane (+61) and a 27-stroke lead over third-place College of Saint Mary (+67).
