Bulldogs in three-way tie for second after round one of Prairie Wolf Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. – Following one round of action at the Prairie Wolf Fall Invite, the Concordia University Women’s Golf team resides in a three-way tie for second place. The tournament field hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan includes the Bulldogs, Central College (Iowa), College of Saint Mary and Buena Vista University (Iowa). The event is being held at Mahoney Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb., over the weekend (Sept. 25-26).

Head Coach Brett Muller’s squad also placed third (out of eight teams) at the Matthew Goette Classic hosted by College of Saint Mary this past Tuesday. Concordia carded a team score of 357 on Saturday.

Below are the scores posted in round one by Bulldogs. The tournament features 40 individual golfers. Kendra Placke sits one stroke out of first place atop the individual leaderboard.

·        Kendra Placke – 74 (2nd)

·        Lauren Havlat – 88 (T-13th)

·        Mya Nurse – 97 (T-29th)

·        Logan Eschliman – 97 (T-29th)

·        Emily Jensen – 97 (T-29th)

·        Sarah Wilson – 97 (T-29th)

·        Ashley Gerczynski – 107 (T-36th)

Round two is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday from Mahoney Golf Course. This will be the final tournament prior to the GPAC Championships (Oct. 4-5).
