Women's basketball ranked No. 11 in NAIA preseason poll

The Concordia University women’s basketball team is ranked 11th in the NAIA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll.  The Bulldogs went 21-11 overall and 11-7 in the GPAC a year ago.  Concordia has advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for three straight years under the direction of head coach Drew Olson.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference will be loaded with talented teams once again this year.  A total of six teams are ranked in the top 25 in the preseason poll with a seventh team receiving votes.  Northwestern College, last year’s National Champion, has been tabbed as the No. 1 team in the poll.  Morningside College is fifth, and the University of Sioux Falls is 16th.  Hastings College and Briar Cliff University are 21st and 23rd, respectively, in the preseason poll.  Mount Marty College is receiving votes.

Concordia returns two starters and six letter winners from last year’s squad.  The Bulldogs open the 2010-11 season at Tabor College (Kan.) on November 4.
