SEWARD, Neb. – ‘Amazing’ Grace Barry accomplished something last week that even fellow all-time greats in program history had never before achieved. Barry notched a triple-double in the 88-77 win at No. 7 Morningside. As a result, the senior point guard was named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday (Dec. 17).

The honor is likely to be the first of many during the 2019-20 campaign for the Lincoln East High School product. One of the more dynamic point guards in the nation, Barry burned Morningside for 20 points, 10 assists and 10 steals on Dec. 11. Three days later she put up 15 points and swiped two more steals in the 80-50 victory at Mount Marty. For the week, Barry made 15-of-26 (.577) shots from the field while helping push the program’s winning streak to 23.

Barry is in her second season at Concordia after transferring from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Nationally, Barry ranks fourth in steals per game (4.0) and ninth in assists per game (6.09). She is also averaging 13.5 points and shooting 50.4 percent from the field. Despite having played in only 49 games as a Bulldog, Barry sports program all-time rankings of 17th in assists (283) and 19th in steals (183).

Barry and top-ranked Concordia (11-0, 7-0 GPAC) are set to return to action this Friday and Saturday with the Southeastern University Christmas Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
