SEWARD, Neb. – After her second and third career starts, Makynna Robbins was named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Nov. 3). The rising Bulldog forward helped propel the newly minted 2026-27 squad to a pair of lopsided victories over Valley City State University (N.D.) and William Penn University (Iowa) at the CorTrust Classic. Robbins is the first Concordia University, Nebraska player to receive the award this season.
A Houston, Texas, native, Robbins posted a team-high 17 rebounds, seven steals (tied for first), three assists and one block in 28 total minutes played across the two games. The versatile forward delivered an efficient offensive performance, scoring 16 points, three shy of her career high, in the convincing 112-69 rout of VCSU. She also tallied eight points and hauled in a game-high nine rebounds in the commanding 92-42 triumph over the Statesmen.
The behavioral science major shot 12-for-20 (.600) from the floor, the second-best shooting percentage on the team during the road trip. Robbins logged 527 minutes in her first two seasons, averaging 4.9 points per game, but is poised to take on an expanded role with the 2026-27 Bulldog roster.
Concordia will host the 27th annual Cattle Classic this upcoming weekend (Nov. 6-7), facing a formidable pair of nationally ranked opponents in No. 16 Montana Tech University and No. 3 Dakota State University (S.D.).
