Olson picks up 100th career coaching win in Concordia's 72-47 victory over Bethany College

Concordia University earned an easy 72-47 women’s basketball win over Bethany College on Friday evening in the Kansas Wesleyan Basketball Classic.  It was the 100th career coaching win for Drew Olson.  The Bulldogs improved to 8-5 on the season, while Bethany slipped to 2-11. 

Concordia led by just nine (33-24) at the half, but the Bulldogs poured it on in the second half.  Concordia led by as many as 29 (62-33) and pulled away for the convincing win.  Concordia forced 22 turnovers and finished with 25 points off of those turnovers.  Concordia held Bethany to 14-of-51 (27.5 percent) shooting in the game.  The Bulldogs also held a commanding 18-8 advantage in points in the paint and had a 51-36 rebounding advantage over the Swedes.

Amber Kistler (Minatare, Neb.) poured in a game-high 20 points for the Bulldogs.  Kistler was 4-of-10 from the field (3-of-4 from deep) and 9-of-10 at the foul line.  Kristen Conahan (Omaha, Neb.) also reached double figures with 11 points off the bench.  Katie Rich (Tilden, Neb.) scored eight points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for Concordia in the win. 

Emily Dwerlkotte scored 11 points for Bethany College.

Concordia will battle #6 Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday at 4 pm to conclude play in the holiday tournament.
