Gibbon's Jericca Pearson signs with Concordia basketball and track & field

Concordia University has announced the signing of Jericca Pearson.  Pearson, who prepped at Gibbon High School, will participate in basketball and track and field for the Bulldogs. 

Pearson has earned multiple conference and state honors over the course of her basketball career.  She is a 4-time All-State honorable mention selection by the Omaha World Herald and a 3-time All-State honorable mention selection by the Lincoln Journal Star.  As a senior, Pearson was a Lincoln Journal Star second team All-State selection.  Jericca also earned first team All-Area and first team All-Conference honors this year.  Pearson had basketball offers from several schools including Princeton and Valparaiso from the Division I level.  She scored over 1,000 points in her career.     

Jericca has also enjoyed a tremendous track and field career.  She qualified for state in three events in her sophomore and junior years.  As a sophomore, she finished second in the triple jump.  She was third in the 200 meter dash, and she tied for third in the high jump.  Last year, Jericca was the Class C State Champion in the triple jump.  She also finished third in the 200 meter dash, and she tied for fourth in the high jump. 

Besides her athletic success, Pearson is also a 2-time Academic All-State selection.  She is the daughter of Brad and Michelle Pearson.
