Concordia women’s basketball claims spot on WBCA academic honor roll

WBCA Release

SEWARD, Neb. – With a team GPA of 3.299 in 2012-13, Concordia women’s basketball placed 24th among all NAIA women’s hoops programs, as announced by the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association (WBCA) on Thursday. Among GPAC institutions, head coach Drew Olson’s squad ranked third on the list.

Concordia is no stranger to the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls. The Bulldogs ranked No. 1 on the list eight out of nine years between 2000 and 2008. Since 2000, Concordia has missed the WBCA honor roll just once.

This past season, both senior Dawn Martin (Rockford, Ill.) and Kasi Stoltz (Elgin, Neb.) earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete laurels.

From the WBCA: The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes women’s basketball teams across the nation in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the NAIA, and junior/community colleges that carry the highest combined grade point averages (GPAs) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2012-13 season is the 18th in which the WBCA has produced the honor rolls.
