2021 NAIA Volleyball All-Americans

SEWARD, Neb. – Yet another accolade has come Camryn Opfer’s way. The Concordia University Volleyball standout was recognized as a 2021 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, as announced by the NAIA on Thursday (Dec. 9). This marks the third season in a row that the Concordia program has been rewarded with at least one All-American. Tara Callahan collected honorable mention status in 2019 and 2020 and Emmie Noyd was named to the third team in 2019.

Below is a summary of the awards Opfer has garnered this postseason. The Seward High School product led the team in kills (394) and digs (389) in 2021 as one of the top outside hitters in the nation. She also hit .221 and added 45 blocks. Named to the 2020 and 2021 National Championship All-Tournament Teams, Opfer has pushed her career kill total to 948, a figure that ranks 10th on the program’s all-time list. Opfer shined in the five-set national tournament win over No. 2 Viterbo University (Wis.) in tallying 21 kills and 16 digs.

With Opfer leading the way, the Bulldogs made their way to the national quarterfinals and landed at No. 6 in the NAIA postseason coaches’ poll. That ranking equaled the best ever ranking in the history of the program (highest to finish a season). During Opfer’s collegiate run, Concordia has been ranked in the final NAIA top 15 in each of three seasons.
