Northwestern College sweeps past Concordia

Northwestern College, ranked No. 4 in the NAIA, swept Concordia 3-0 in GPAC volleyball on Saturday afternoon in Seward.  Scores of the match were 25-22, 25-21 and 25-16.  The Red Raiders improved to 22-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the win.  Concordia dropped to 10-10 overall and remained winless in conference play at 0-5.

Hillary Hanno had a match-high 12 kills to go along with six digs for the Raiders.  Bobbie Jean Rich added eight kills and nine digs, while Kaitlin Beaver handed out 29 set assists for Northwestern. 

Marlee Denton and Sloan Brandon each had five kills for Concordia.  Brandon also added a match-high 16 digs.  Chelsea Vaudt and Alex Szalawiga added four kills apiece, while Kaylie Mellema and Alexa Hopping each dished out 11 set assists for the Bulldogs. 

Concordia hosts Nebraska Wesleyan on October 6.  It will be Dig Pink Night at the Health, Human Performance and Athletic Center with matches scheduled for 6 and 7:30.
