Mariah Schamp signs with Bulldog volleyball

Concordia University volleyball coach Rachel Miller has announced another signing to the 2011 class.  Mariah Schamp of Ralston Valley High School (Arvada, Colo.) will play for the Bulldogs next season.

During her time at Ralston Valley, Mariah lettered three years in volleyball and four years in track.  During her volleyball career, Mariah was a third team All-Conference selection as a junior and a first team All-Conference selection as a senior.  Schamp also was a 2-time Academic All-State selection.

Schamp also enjoyed a successful track career for the Mustangs.  As a freshman, she was a third team All-Conference selection.  She earned second team All-Conference recognition during her sophomore and junior seasons.

Mariah was also a member of the Honor Roll and Honor Society during her high school career.

“I am thrilled to have Mariah join the Bulldog family,” remarked Miller.  “She is the kind of player with the physical and mental attributes that can help take our team to the next level, and she’s a fantastic fit for Concordia University as well.  I definitely have her grandpa to thank for giving me her name and starting the recruiting process!”
