Losing streak hits six as Hastings College sweeps past Concordia

Concordia University dropped to 11-18 overall and 1-13 in GPAC play with a 3-0 loss to Hastings College on Wednesday evening in Seward.  Scores of the match were 25-11, 25-20 and 25-13.  The visiting Broncos improved to 19-13 overall and 9-6 in conference play with the win. 

Kendra Schwein had a match-high 10 kills to lead the way for Hastings College.  Leah Dostal added six kills, and Kelsey Wells delivered five on the night.  Carissa Kinne and Liz Hervert had 12 and 11 digs, respectively, to lead the way defensively, while Lyndi Rouzee had 15 set assists for the Broncos. 

Concordia was led by Sloan Brandon’s six kills.  The Bulldogs finished with a .067 attack percentage on the night.  Chelsea Vaudt added five kills, and Alexa Hopping handed out nine set assists.  Nico Ethofer had a team-high eight digs for Concordia defensively. 

The Bulldogs host Briar Cliff University on Saturday.  Matches are scheduled for 3 and 4:30 on Senior Day at the Health, Human Performance and Athletic Center.
