SEWARD, Neb. – In light of the win at No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan University, two members of the Concordia University, Nebraska Volleyball program earned recognition. On Tuesday (Aug. 26), the GPAC league office named Ashley Keck the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Attacker of the Week and Lily Psencik the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Setter of the Week. The honors were garnered based on their performances at last week’s Power Quad in Marion, Ind.

A returning NAIA First Team All-American, Keck has found a way to raise her game to another level in the early going of her senior year. The Kearney, Neb., native became the 11th Bulldog in program history to eclipse 1,000 kills last week while leading Head Coach Ben Boldt’s squad to Columbia College (Mo.), MidAmerica Nazarene University (Kan.) and No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan. Over those three matches (12 sets), Keck tallied 46 kills, 51 digs, 10 blocks and three aces while hitting .257 from the outside. In 94 career matches with Concordia, Keck has accumulated 1,034 kills, 832 digs and 86 blocks.

Psencik has pulled in a GPAC weekly award for the first time in her career. She shares the setter role in Concordia’s 6-2 system. This past week, the Lincoln Lutheran alum totaled 64 assists (6.4 per set), 21 digs and two aces. Psencik’s stat line in the win over defending national champion IWU included 34 assists, 12 digs and an ace. Psencik helps facilitate an attack that is averaging 13.27 assists per set.

The Bulldogs (4-0) will resume action this weekend at the College of Saint Mary Labor Day Classic. For more details on the Friday-Saturday event in Omaha, click HERE.
