SEWARD, Neb. – The conference weekly awards keep streaming in for the second-ranked Concordia University, Nebraska Volleyball team. Following a 2-0 week, the league office recognized freshman Ella Brueggemann as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Setter of the Week and senior Ashley Keck as the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Attacker of the Week. Through the first five weeks of the 2025 season, Bulldogs have combined to earn six GPAC player of the week awards, including three won by Keck.
Ella Brueggemann has earned her first career GPAC weekly honor one week after her sister Emma was named GPAC Defender of the Week. The award for Ella is based on her performances in last week’s four-set wins over No. 17 Midland and Doane. Over those two outings, the Hebron, Neb., native posted 46 assists (5.75 per set), 19 digs, two aces and two kills. Ella helped Concordia average 13.13 kills per set as a team for the week.
Ella played a role in Keck (Business Administration major) accumulating a team high 36 combined kills in the wins over Midland and Doane. For the week, the Kearney, Neb., native hit .234 from the outside and produced 28 digs, four aces and two blocks. Keck continues to star as one of the NAIA’s best players. She ranks first among GPAC players and ninth nationally in kills per set (4.20). In 102 collegiate matches, Keck has tallied 1,147 kills, 926 digs and 92 blocks.
The Bulldogs (11-1, 4-0 GPAC) will play at home twice this week as they look forward to hosting Hastings on Wednesday and Dordt on Saturday. The program will honor a class of 10 seniors prior to Saturday’s match.
