Briar Cliff spoils Senior Day with 3-0 sweep of Concordia

Briar Cliff University spoiled Concordia’s senior day with a 3-0 volleyball win over the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon in Seward.  Scores of the match were 25-23, 25-23 and 26-24.  The Chargers moved to 19-13 overall and 7-8 in GPAC play with the win.  Concordia slipped to 11-19 overall and 1-14 in conference play with the loss. 

Chelsea Vaudt (Kalispell, Mont.) had 10 kills to lead the way for the Bulldogs.  Alex Szalawiga (Olathe, Kan.) added nine kills and eight digs.  Sloan Brandon (Carrollton, Texas) totaled 17 digs, and Nico Ethofer (Omaha, Neb.) finished with 10 digs in the match.  Alexa Hopping (Sutherland, Neb.) handed out 19 assists, while Kaylie Mellema (Axtell, Neb.) had 11 assists for the Bulldogs. 

Concordia travels to Doane College to conclude conference play on November 3.  Matches are scheduled for 6 and 7:30 in Crete.
