Amanda Abbott signs with Bulldog volleyball program

Concordia University head volleyball coach Rachel Miller has announced the signing of Amanda Abbott of Murrieta, California.  Abbott is the first signed recruit for 2011.

“I am thrilled to announce that Amanda is the first Bulldog recruit for the Class of 2011,” said Rachel Miller, head coach of the Bulldogs.  “She brings versatility, experience, and a passion for the game.  Amanda is a great addition to the Bulldog family.  Look for her to do great things at Concordia University, Nebraska!”

Abbott lettered for three years at Chaparral High School in Temecula, California.  She spent time at multiple positions during her career for the Pumas.  Amanda was voted Most Improved Player and was an All-League selection during her junior year.  Her club team went to the National Championships, and Abbott was named to the Triple Crown All-Star Team during her junior year.  Amanda was a team captain in her senior year.

“Concordia’s atmosphere, location and education program are perfect for me,” said Abbott.  “I want to be in a Christian environment and be close to my family in Nebraska while working on becoming the best teacher and coach I can be.”
