SEWARD, Neb. – The Concordia University Shooting Sports Program has unveiled its schedule for the 2020-21 season. The slate features 10 events, including the third annual Bulldog Sporting Invitational. The first official competition for the entire team is set for Sept. 12-13 at the Fort Hays State Intercollegiate Shoot. Freshman competitors will have the opportunity to shoot at the Fort Hays State Freshman Intercollegiate Shoot (Aug. 29-30).

The 2019-20 season marked the second for Scott Moniot as head coach and the second campaign that shooting sports has been an official varsity athletic team at Concordia. The Bulldogs were able to see out nearly their entire schedule, except for their most anticipated event – the ACUI National Championships in San Antonio, Texas. However, there were many highlights that took place last season. To name a few: Nicole Breese won the female high overall title at the Doane Invite, Colten Uitermarkt shot a perfect score in skeet at the Doane Invite and Wyatt Eriksen was perfect in trap at the Tundra Shootout.

From a team perspective, the Bulldogs placed second at their own shootout, broke school records in wobble trap and skeet doubles at the Bronco Invitational and set a new program standard in sporting clays at an ACUI event in February. The team also raised more than $87,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Lastly, graduate Erin Lokke again competed at the Olympic Trials as she continues to chase her dreams of representing the US on the international stage.

This coming season’s schedule is mostly unaffected by outside forces. Concordia is scheduled to compete at most of the same meets it traveled to in 2019-20. The Prairie Circuit Classic Fall Championship (Sept. 25-27) serves as a conference championship event. The Bulldogs are also set to compete at a number of local shoots, such as the events hosted by Midland, Hastings and Doane. The ACUI National Championships are set for March 22-28, 2021 in San Antonio.
