2023-24 Concordia Shooting Sports Schedule

SEWARD, Neb. – The sixth official season of varsity action for Concordia University Shooting Sports is set to get underway in September. On July 14, the program announced its 2023-24 schedule complete with 11 total events throughout the fall and spring semesters. The campaign will kick off at the Fort Hays State University Fall Intercollegiate Shoot the weekend of Sept. 9-10. There will be eight events during the fall semester with three more slated for the spring semester.

Head Coach Dylan Owens took the reins of the program prior to the 2022-23 season. In year one, Owens led the Bulldogs to a third-place finish in the Prairie Circuit Conference and to a third-place claim in the Division IV breakdown of the 2023 NCSSAA National Championships. HOA national champion Wyatt Hambly has moved on as the new head coach of the clay target sports at Warburg College. Hambly earned All-America honors last season along with Sam Blevins, Tanner Muff and Katelyn Welker.

The fall portion of the 2023-24 schedule will include two particularly significant qualifier events: the NCSSAA Regional Qualifier (Sept. 22-24) in Grand Island, Neb., and the NCSSAA South Central Regional Qualifier (Nov. 4-5) in Waco, Texas. The Prairie Circuit Conference Championships will be held in North Platte, Neb., Sept. 29-Oct. 1. The eighth annual Concordia Bulldog Sporting Invitational is set for Oct. 21-22 at Oak Creek Sporting Club, the program’s home course in Brainard, Neb.

After wrapping up fall action, Concordia will resume the 2023-24 season in the spring of 2024 with the Doane Tiger Invitational (March 2-3), the NCSSAA National Championships (March 18-24) and the Concordia Bulldog International Shoot (April 13-14). The NCSSAA National Championships will shift to Sparta, Ill., in 2024 after taking place in Vegas this past season.
