GRAND ISLAND, Neb. – The fall season is in the books for head coach Joel Helmer’s trap and skeet team. While competing in their sixth event of 2017-18, the Bulldogs placed ninth out of 20 teams at the ACUI Annual Clay Targets Tournament held at Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Neb., on Nov. 4. Collectively, Concordia’s top five shooters hit 1,284 targets.

Dustin Renfro paced the Bulldogs by shooting 272/300. His 97/100 in American Skeet represented a personal best. In the team’s pecking order, Renfro was followed by senior Seth Willard (259/300), juniors Ethan Cradick (254/300) and Mitchell Charron (252/300) and sophomore Luke Comstock (247/300). Cradick tied for fourth in Super Sporting (46/50), an event that did not count towards the HOA standings. On the women’s side, sophomore Katarina Borg placed ninth in American Skeet (92/100).

The field of teams included representatives from five different GPAC schools as well as many NCAA Division I institutions.

The event showing on the schedule is the Midland Ice-Out Invitational scheduled to take place March 10-11, 2018, at Lincoln Trap & Skeet Club. The annual ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships will unfold March 26 – April 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
