Lokke, Willard lead trap and skeet at final fall competition

KEARNEY, Neb. – All 12 Concordia University trap and skeet shooters competed at the ACUI Upper Midwest Conference Championships as the Bulldogs closed their fall season. Freshman Erin Lokke again stared for Concordia, placing fifth among the field of 27 participants in the event that unfolded at Heartland Public Shooting Park in Grand Island, Neb., on Nov. 7-8.

The competition tested shooters in trap, skeet and sporting clays. Lokke, a native of Saint Francis, Minn., turned in scores of 69 (sporting clays), 88 (trap) and 88 (skeet) for a total of 245 – 29 off the winner from the University of Wyoming. Sophomore Seth Willard (Hudson, Colo.) scored highest for the Concordia men with a combined total of 258. He placed 20th among 97 shooters on the men’s side.

The championships included competitors from several Midwest-based institutions such as Iowa State University, Kansas State University, the University of Missouri as well as fellow GPAC schools in Hastings and Midland.
