An impressive sophomore season for Erin Lokke has continued into the spring. As a standout for the Concordia University trap & skeet program, Lokke took first place at the Midland Ice-Out Invitational (March 11-12) and is one of four Bulldogs to qualify for the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships next week.

Lokke and 14 of her teammates competed at the Ice-Out Invite, which took place at the Lincoln Trap & Skeet Club. Lokke finished high overall with a 352/400 while also topping all competitors in international skeet (44/50). The rest of Concordia’s top five at the meet included Seth Willard (340/400), Ethan Cradick (306/400), Mark Bender (300/400) and Kendall Schick (295/400).

Seven of head coach Joel Helmer’s shooters also attended the ACUI Western International Conference Championship at International Shooting Park in Colorado Springs, Colo. (March 18-19). When the dust settled, Lokke had qualified for the international shoot-off in international skeet and Willard, Schick and Katarina Borg all qualified in international trap. Lokke placed first high overall among females (193/250).

Lokke has now won four of the eight tournaments she’s competed in during this academic year. She will take aim at even more significant heights at the ACUI Collegiate Clay Target Championships, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, March 28 – April 2.
