VALLEY CENTER, Kan. – The 2017-18 trap and skeet season is underway for head coach Joel Helmer’s program. While competing at the Shocker Fall Classic hosted by Wichita State University on Sept. 9-10, the Bulldogs placed fifth out of seven teams with a score of 1,331/1,500. Concordia got top-five event finishes from Erin Lokke (sporting clays) and Sabra Moore (trap) and a high overall finish of fourth place from Dustin Renfro.

Helmer took nine team members into competition at the Ark Valley Gun Club. Lokke, a junior from Saint Francis, Minn., turned in the team’s top score of 269/300, edging out Renfro (267/300). Lokke and Renfro were two of the leaders for a stellar team effort in skeet (469/500). Katarina Borg, Lokke, Renfro and Seth Willard each hit 94/100 targets in skeet.

It was a memorable outing for Moore, a sophomore from Shelby, Neb., who finished third in trap (97/100). It marked her first career tournament placement. Moore recorded a total of 259/300.

Rounding out the team’s top five after Lokke and Renfro were Willard (266/300), Ethan Cradick (263/300) and Moore (259/300). Concordia defeated squads from the University of Missouri and Kansas State University.
