SEWARD, Neb. – Senior Addie Shaw is hitting her stride heading into the GPAC indoor championship meet. After two personal bests efforts at the Concordia Invite, Shaw has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports GPAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced on Wednesday (Feb. 19). Shaw has collected two GPAC Athlete of the Week awards in 2020. Shaw and the men’s and women’s Bulldog teams have combined for 10 GPAC weekly honors this indoor season.

A native of Bassett, Neb., Shaw emerged as the top competitor in both the shot put and weight throw amongst a loaded field at the Concordia Invite. In this particular meet, Shaw defeated the NAIA national leader in both events with tosses of 48’ 9 ½” in the shot put and 63 feet in the weight throw. That mark in the weight throw again broke her own school record. Meanwhile, she leapt up to No. 2 on the school’s all-time shot put list. Currently, Shaw ranks second nationally in both throwing events.

Shaw is a two-time national champion in the discus and is a six-time All-American. She will try to add to her 2019 outdoor GPAC discus title when the GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships take place this Friday and Saturday at Dakota Wesleyan.
