Concordia athletes knocked off the rust this past weekend while in action at the Graduate Classic (hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln) and the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic (hosted by Doane). From a national perspective, the most significant achievement was delivered by accomplished senior Adrianna Rodencal. The Lincoln Lutheran alum rebroke her own 60-meter hurdles school record and won the race at the Graduate Classic, a meet loaded with NCAA Division I competitors. Rodencal currently reigns atop the NAIA national list in the 60 hurdles.
The complete list of Concordia marks/times that have met the NAIA ‘A’ or ‘B’ national qualifying standards is included below. A new B standard was added to the list last week at the Nisely Classic as freshman Makenna Starkey cleared 5’ 5 ¼” in the high jump. Starkey contributed to the volleyball program’s run to the NAIA national semifinals this past fall. Also at the Nisely Classic, four Bulldogs won event titles: Vaughn Hendrickson (1,000 meters), Jax Jacobson (pole vault), Landri Loos (800 meters) and Aaron Spivey (triple jump). At the Graduate Classic, Adysen McCarter neared her personal best by landing at 38’ 8 ¾” in the triple jump, placing her in second.
